LEADERS IN TRAINING:
What is an LIT? LIT stands for Leader-in-Training. We’ve found the best leaders and staff are often those who have been through the camp experience as a camper. LITs are transitioning from a camper to a camp leader.
Who can apply for the LIT program? LITs must have just completed 7th, 8th or 9th grades to be eligible for the program.
What do LITs do? The LIT program gives teens the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they assist camp staff in daily operations. LITs participate in daily activities, helping camp counselors execute programming. LITs go on field trips and will participate in camp service projects and develop new skills while enjoying the excitement of summer camp.
How do I apply? An application must be filled out at the YMCA. You will then be called in for an interview with one or both of your parents.
