Turkey Trot

The YMCA of El Paso Turkey Trot is the largest Thanksgiving Day event of its kind in the region. In 2013, the Trot had over 1,100 participants participating in our event.  Starting from humble beginnings 38 years ago, it has grown into the undisputed "Way to Begin Thanksgiving Day" for hundreds of local families as well as those who travel to share in our great event.

The Trot tradition has now extended through generations of participants who celebrate the holiday with grandparents, relatives, friends and their youngest who we look to see with their own families in the years ahead.  The YMCA of El Paso supports strong kids, strong families and strong communities – all of which are represented at the Trot.  Participants are also helping to support important YMCA programs.  We look forward to seeing you feel free to bring a big group) to this year’s YMCA of El Paso Turkey Trot.

New This Year:  Team Challenge
A team will consist of four runners of any age or gender combination.  Pick a team name (teams will be identified by their team name) and register together in person, by mail.  For online registration email Randy Wastradowski to receive a team code.  The combined time of all four runners will be the team’s time.  The top three teams will receive awards during the awards ceremony at the end of the race.  Team members are also eligible for individual overall or individual age group awards.

 New This Year:  Costume Contest
It’s simple…dress up in a fun, family friendly and creative costume, run the Turkey Trot in your costume and maybe win a prize.  Our judges will be looking for originality, creativity, wearability (you must finish the race in costume) and overall effect.  You must be registered for and complete the Turkey Trot in order to be eligible to win a prize.  Judging will take place between 6:30-7:00 am with winners announced after the race at the awards ceremony.

The Turkey Trot is a YMCA tradition that draws people from all over the country – from Hawaii to Massachusetts, from Michigan to Mexico.  Mark your calendar now and come join the fun!!!
